The knitting herd

So, I've noticed knitters are sheep. We all follow each other, sometimes not even knowing who is the leader. The internet is the shepherd. We all jump on to see what everyone else is doing. Ooo! Ooo! The new knitty is out! Everyone make Monkeys!! Ooo! Ooo! Ravelry! Everyone sign up! Ooo! Ooo! Mystery ___ #432! Gotta do it!

I am a sheep. I'm working on Monkeys. I'm on Ravelry. Not only was I trying to do MS3, I didn't learn my lesson and am signed up for Mystic Waters KAL. It all started for me with meetup.com.

Excuse me, I have to go check what my friends on ravelry are queuing.

Baa.

omg this is hilarious. as I just made a comment to my friend about how I'm so tired of how everyone just follows everyone else in our knitting world. Like if yarnharlot blogs something everyone runs to do it too.

but I suppose I'm right there with everyone. I mean I did knit a pair of monkeys. I didn't want to but I did. Thats just as bad, if not worse.

baaaa baaaaa from another sheep :)

I first experienced this phenomenon with counted cross stitch, and thought well everyone has what they like and there are alot of people so hence lots of people do the same things. But alas, I see it in knitting as well. Although not that it is in anyway a bad thing.
Like all things it ebbs and flows, but my wish is that the Gentle Arts are back to stay for awhile.

btw, I am off now to finish checking on all my blog friends, and then it is off to Ravelry....
